PROBIOTICS

Let's start by explaining what probiotics are.

Probiotics are live microorganisms that provide health benefits, addressing mostly gut microbiome, when consumed in adequate amounts. These microorganisms are typically bacteria or yeast and are considered "friendly" or "good" that can positively influence the balance of microflora in the digestive system and other areas of the body.

Not to be mistaken by prebiotics which are the substances, usually non-digestible fibers, that serve as food for probiotics. Consuming both prebiotics and probiotics together can enhance the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria in the gut.

At Carrés Sauvages products we use the Bacillus coagulans MTCC 5856 strain of probiotic in our GUT chocolate bar. Bacillus coagulans MTCC 5856 is unique among probiotics because it is a spore-forming bacterium, meaning it can form a protective spore around itself, allowing it to survive harsh conditions such as stomach acid and reach the intestines intact.

There are many benefits to that particular strain such as:

  • Digestive Health
  • Immune Support
  • Anti-inflammatory Effects
  • Vaginal Health
  • Antimicrobial Properties
  • Antimicrobial Properties

And to the probiotic curation in general. Are you familiar with them?
